“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”
~ Maria Robinson

In our lives and in the practice of yoga we are constantly evolving, growing, changing. Every day presents a new opportunity to expand and transform. Each time we step onto our mats we can create a happier, healthier, version of ourselves. We become more balanced, flexible, and strong. Through this yoga, this union, of body, mind, and spirit we can begin to let go of what drags us down so we can bring in what fills us up. As we become more connected to our bodies, our breath, and ourselves we can release what’s been restricted, heal mental and physical challenges, trust our inner wisdom, and flow with, not against, life. The practice encourages us to look at things from multiple perspectives, to be open to possibilities, to step away from habitual habits and thoughts, to rewrite the story.

As a lifelong athlete, flexibility seemed completely elusive.  My toes couldn’t have been any further away but little by little, practice by practice, this changed. Physically I became stronger, more open and free. Mentally I felt calmer, more present, at peace. To share all of these incredible gifts with others I became certified to teach yoga through Anna Forest’s 200 Hour Teacher’s Training in 2008.

Also, in 2008 I trained for nine months with Mac McHugh to learn to teach Niyama HotTM Yoga, a dynamic sequenced series of poses practiced in a heated room. The poses, the heat, the release of toxins – both physical and mental – so thoroughly resonate with me.  I feel very grateful and blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of such a rewarding practice.   I continue to expand my knowledge through study with many different master teachers and styles, and am currently working on an additional 200 hours of Anusara Immersions and Teacher’s Training that  I will complete by Spring 2012.

In my classes I strive to create an environment that nurtures the uniqueness we all possess, encouraging each student to find what they need, to be in a place that feels right, to let go of what needs to be released, to strive for more at their own pace,  to find the harmony and bliss of the present moment, and to know that through our practice we are unlimited.
