Like many before her, Jenny was drawn to yoga in 2000 for the physical or asana practice. However, as her study of yoga deepened, she came to discover the multi-beneficial qualities of this Eastern philosophy uniting mind, body and spirit. Jenny was certified as a yoga instructor in 2007 at Chicago Yoga Center under the guidance of Suddha Weixler. She has subsequently attended numerous workshops and training programs with such teachers as Todd Norian , Anne Greene, Richard Freeman, Erich Schiffmann, Sarah Powers, and Paul Grilley.
As her physical practice evolved, so did her study of meditation. Through several classes, she has explored meditation and developed her own practice. Although not trained for instruction, she shares her knowledge with her classes and encourages her students to try this component of yoga.
And yoga has broadened Jenny’s spiritual perspective. Under a spiritual teacher, she has studied to great extent the Bhagavad Gita, a sacred Vedantic text of the Hindu faith and philosophy.
Jenny receives great joy in sharing with others her love and appreciation for yoga. She builds the foundation of her practice and her teaching on an underlying theme of the Bhagavad Gita – to make the leap from fear (whatever that fear may be) to faith (faith in oneself , in one’s beliefs…). She fosters the idea of each one of us being our own resplendent sun.
Jenny has a B.A. from Northwestern University, a MA. from Duke University, a M.S.A. from Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University, and attended a PhD. Program at Northwestern University. She has worked in the advertising world as well as taught in the academic world.
Jenny lives in Wilmette where she has raised her two sons. Her next goal is to publish a short story or novel.
